Fall Cardigan for Marge
Осенняя кофточка для Марго
Fall cardigan for my Marge is off the needles and has been already warming up Marge at our (pretty chilly lately) home and outdoors, when the days were sunny! (Follow the link on raverly to see all the details and step by step photos of this project). I enjoyed working on this project till the last sewed button and am totally happy with the result! I used the “Basic Raglan Baby Cardigan Sweater” pattern. I fell in love with this cardigan when I saw it for the first time at knitionary the blog. Buttons, collar and stripes was exactly the things that I thought would fit Marge’s set of tops for this autumn.
The pattern was really easy to implement even though I used a yarn of a different weight and had to recount the number of stitches to cast on. If you are a newbie in knitting and want to try to knit something for your little baby then this cardigan is a pretty good choice for you!
I have one tip for you in case you decide to give it a go. When switching colour for a ribbing, make one row of a socking stitch with the new colour before starting the ribbing. Thus you will avoid a ‘seam’ effect which will appear under purl stitches of the ribbing if you start the ribbing right after yarn colour change.
If you are a beginner, don’t let terminology scare you off! I’m going to share some resources that helped me to get through some unclear places (there were a few questions for Google as my knitting knowledge is totally basic).
Increasing a stitch (inc) — прибавление петель;
Picking up (PU) — поднятие петель;
Способы сшивания изделия (для шва рукава).
Now that this project is ready and fall is on it’s way, I have already started another quick and cute project — warm booties for Marge. Yarn has been already chosen. In fact, I’m working on the second bootie right now! You can find this project and check out the details about the pattern I chose as well as photographs of each of the stages on raverly here.
